Car dealerships close, move towns, are bought out or amalgamate and so approvals end. However, our ownership, mentality, structure and core staff remain. We are always adapting to the most up to date, efficient and cost effective methods of repair.

How it all began

Portslade Panelworks was founded in 1976, by Peter Chambers and his two eldest sons, John and Paul. Their first premises was in Portslade's Aldrington Basin, before having to move to larger premises at Orchard Gardens, Hove, due to the fast-growing success of the family-run business.
After their father's retirement in 1987, John and Paul went on to own the company outright, where they ran the business together for decades. Under their own leadership, the shop achieved manufacturer-approved status for major luxury and consumer car brands.

Portslade Panelwork's team of highly trained technicians, use their skills and the latest technologies to ensure only top quality repair works are achieved, every time. The company also does repair work for many insurance companies, and has long established strong working relationships with many other local businesses. Today the company is still owned and managed by Paul and his daughter, Charlotte.

Since their beginnings the company has gone from strength to strength and their reputation with it.
